Fred Brouard was born in 1944 in Caen, Normandy. He died in 1999. At the National School of Arts in Paris, he was encouraged by Henri-Georges Adam to further pursue his talent in the art of sculpting.

He soon partnered with such established sculptors as Alicia Penalba. He exhibited at the New School in Paris and at New York’s Sonnabend Gallery. He also took part in several shows in Paris such as 'Comparaisons', 'Grands et Jeunes d'Aujourd'hui', 'Réalités Nouvelles', 'Salon de Mai'.
